On February 15, 2024, the Milford Independent School District Board of Trustees officially called for a bond election scheduled for May 4, 2024. During this election, voters in the district will have the opportunity to decide on a proposed $11.5 million bond, which comes with a tax increase of $0.38 per $100K home valuation.

School District taxes on resident homesteads (except for subsequent improvements) are FROZEN in the year a taxpayer turns 65 years of age and will not increase as a result of this Bond Election.
WHAT ABOUT THE TAXES?
The disabled are also able to have their school taxes FROZEN. It’s important to note that the taxpayer must apply for the exemption. This application must be made to Ellis or Hill County’s Appraisal District
All homestead applications must be accompanied by a copy of applicant's driver’s license or other information as required by the Texas Property Tax Code. Applicant may also be required to complete an affidavit to qualify for an exemption under certain situations.
The bond program tax impact is less than $0.25 per day for the average Milford ISD homeowner.
Projected Tax Increase Both Monthly and Annually includes the $100,000 Homestead Exemption.

Anyone who is a registered voter residing within the Milford Independent School District boundaries can vote in this election. You do not have to own property or be a taxpayer to vote. Regardless of how you vote, we encourage you to do so, your vote is your voice! For voters who are not already registered, you may become a registered voter by having your voter registration card post-marked no later than 30 days prior to the election date of May 4, 2024.
